Xbox 360 Core:

The Xbox 360 Core used to be an entry level Xbox 360 which was later substituted with the "Arcade". It was released in many countries but, it was not accessible in Japan until November 2, 2006. The XBox 360 Core system came packed with normal scart cables, on which you couldn't obtain HDTV. It was still capable of the same high def resolutions (up to 1080i) as the better models when using a component wire from the other models. In October 2006, 1080p support was brought for all models in a system update, including the "Core" using either the component cable, or the new VGA cable (however not most TVs supported this). It may also utilize a individually sold Xbox 360 hard drive. Unlike all other SKUs, it shipped with a wired version of the Xbox 360 controller, instead of the wireless version found in other SKUs.

Xbox 360 Pro / Xbox 360 Premium:

The Xbox 360 Pro (sometimes named to as Premium and prepacked as simply Xbox 360 with the subhead "Go Pro") had all the characteristics of the Xbox 360 Arcade and included a hybrid composite and component cable with optional optical out instead of a composite cable. It also had a hard drive which was detatchable, originally the standard was 20 GB, but then standard was 60GB. This was to store game points, your profile, music, films, anything. This hard drive arrived with some game demos, numerous videos and the arcade game Hexic HD for free! In Summer '07, this XBox began to come with a another motherboard named Zephyr, it had the latest HDMI and better GPU heatsink. Although this bundle did include an HDMI output, it did not come with an HDMI lead. Coming Out at the end of September 2007, the freshest XBox were transported with the new "Falcon" motherboard. This was to ensure the console a bit more quiet and make it runs at cooler temperatures.. On 1st Aug 08, the twenty Gigabyte edition was stopped and was exchanged by a 60 GB Hard Drive model at the same price. Holiday 2008 consoles were bundled up with Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and Kung Fu Panda. In Sept 08, the prices went from $349 to $299. When the XBox 360 pro was finished, it was reduced to £249.99 to clear stock.

Xbox 360 Elite:

The Xbox 360 Elite included a 120 GB HDD and a matte black finish. The Elite shop bundle also included a controller and headset that matched the system's matte black finish. The original release price was $479.99 USD, $549.99, £299.99, and AU$729.95. The Elite was released in Europe on August 24th, 2007, Australia on August 30th, 2007 and North America on April 29th, 2007. These Elites (and other Xbox 360 models using the Falcon) can be identified from earlier versions by a re-designed power connector and a power supply rated to 175 W. In 2009, Elite models using the Jasper chipset became available. These can also be identified by their power supply, which is rated at 150W and has a 12.1A 12v rail. Holiday 2008 consoles were bundled with Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and Kung Fu Panda. The Elite's price tag was cut from $449 to $399 on September 4, 2008. With the announcement of the new Xbox 360 250 GB model, the Elite decreased in price to US$249.99 for remaining units until stocks are depleted.

Xbox 360 Arcade:

The Xbox 360 Arcade substituted the "Xbox 360 Core" as the entry level Xbox 360 on October 23, 2007, while continuing the Core's cost of US$279.99. It was publically exposed by Microsoft's chairman of Entertainment Devices division Robbie Bach to the Financial Times on October 18, 2007, and officially proclaimed on October 22, 2007, although it was available in stores far earlier. It included a wireless controller, AV wire, HDMI 1.2 output, a 256 MB memory drive & five Xbox Live Arcade games: Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man Championship Edition, and Uno on a CD, which also included a "Welcome Video" and several game trailers/demos. Quite like its predecessor the "Core", it did not have a hard disk drive, which you must have to be able to play original XBox games on your XBox 360. In Autumn '08, with the introduction of the Jasper motherboard revision, the memory unit was took from the package and substituted with an 256 MB internal memory chip. This was later upgraded to a 512 MB chip in Summer 2009. Holiday 2008 XBox's were packed with Sega Superstars Tennis. With the price reductions on September 4, 2008, the Arcade went from US$279 to US$199 in the US. In the United Kingdom, with the 09 Elite price cut and discontinuation of the "Premium" Pro SKU, the Arcade price went up from GB£129.99 to GB£159.99. With the debut of the Xbox 360 S redesign, the Arcade dropped in cost to US$149.99 for any XBox's that were left until stocks are gone. The Arcade was replaced at the US$200 price tier by the 4 GB Xbox 360 S.

Xbox 360 Super Elite:

The XBox 360 Elite is bought with a 250GB hard drive and two wireless controllers. Also named the Xbox 360 Super Elite the console retailed at US$399.99, GB£249.99 and AU$599.00 as of 10/11/09. Other packages enclosed a standard Elite finish and arrived with 1 or 2 games, with some you got Forza Motorsport 3, and with others you could get Halo 3 and ODST. In March '10 - when Final Fantasy XIII came out, they released another bundle which was the same as the Call of Duty bundle, but came with a FFXIII game instead. Disimilar to the other Super Elites, this console and its add-ons featured the identical white color scheme as "Pro" models. This package also enclosed exclusive downloadable items for use with Xbox 360 avatars and a specially branded 250 GB hard drive. In April 2010, a Splinter Cell: Conviction Super Elite bundle featuring special print on the console and the same extras as the other bundles was brought out along side the Splinter Cell: Conviction game.
